Kitesurfing

Kitesurf instructors will also be onhand to give basic instruction in the sport.

Kitesurfing - also known as Kiteboarding - is one of the newest and most radical extreme sports at this year's Big Blue. Huge colourful kites provide the power for riders on tiny surf/wake style boards propelling them along at high speeds with the enormous kite canopy enabling riders to perform massive jumps, gliding up to 100m in the air!

Kite sizes range from 5m to a truly mighty 25m, and they are inflatable with bladder supports, whilst the board is usually between 1m to 2m in length with different shapes and styles such as wake style, twin tips and directionals. Kiteboarding equipment packs up so small that it will easily fit in the boot of your car. Riders can gain air time in as little as 6 knots of wind!
